The Great War Remembered concert celebrated its 16th edition in 2019. The organisation of this event was only possible, thanks to the cooperation of many participants.

Royal Harmony Ypriana, led by director Nico Logghe for more than 25 years, has become a contemporary orchestra with over 80 gifted musicians. A few of them are genuine professional players. What makes the band so distinctive, is its unwearying omnipresence in all kinds of different segments.

The Ypres Surrey Pipes and Drums first saw the light of day in 2007. Under the leadership of Pipe-Major Eric Remy, the YSPD has grown not only into a fine band, but also a close group of friends.

The Ypres Surrey Pipes and Drums first saw the light of day in 2007. Under the leadership of Pipe-Major Eric Remy, the YSPD has grown not only into a fine band, but also a close group of friends. Weekly rehearsals over many years allow the group to perform as a complete and harmonious musical whole.

The Last Post, is daily played under the Menin Gate in honour of the memory of the soldiers of the former British Empire and its allies, who died in the Ypres Salient during the First World War.

Chorus, led by director Tineke Devoghel, is a choir with 4 mixed voices. It is accompanied by its own limited orchestra including a piano, flutes, clarinets, a trumpet and when required some specific instruments, e.g. a bagpipe.

As a conductor of various orchestras Nico built a solid reputation. He won several awards at international music competitions and shared large stages with famous artists. At this time, Nico Logghe is artistic director of the Jongelingskring, the Royal Harmony Ypriana as well as the chamber orchestra Westhoek Consort.

Bart Cafmeyer

Bart directed various musical groups and is known for a number of spectacles, cultural walks and parades, such as the 3-yearly Cats Festival in Ypres.

Luka Bloom

The life and work of Luka Bloom are characterized by words, carried by the melodies that his heart gives him. Armed with his acoustic guitar and great voice, he puts every audience in his back pocket.

Maaike Cafmeyer graduated as Master of Drama at the conservatory of Gent, Belgium.

Maaike Cafmeyer graduated as Master of Drama at the conservatory of Gent, Belgium. Besides theater and TV work, multi-talent Maaike also appears on regular occasions in musicals and is often invited for voice-overs in animated movies.

Kobe Sercu is a nurse at the Jan Yperman hospital in Ieper. He often write songs about events and experiences that coloured his life.

Kobe Sercu is a nurse at the Jan Yperman hospital in Ieper. He often write songs about events and experiences that coloured his life. Happiness, joy, sadness, anger, love, … are woven in his texts. Kobe mainly sings in the local dialect.

Lies Verholle studied classical singing at the School of Arts in Ghent, Belgium.

Lies Verholle studied classical singing at the School of Arts in Ghent, Belgium. During her training, she worked together with leading Belgian conductors and was regularly to be seen on various concert platforms.

The London Māori Club promotes the uniqueness of Māori through the performance of traditional waiata and haka, The three guiding principles of Ngāti Rānana are whanaungatanga (togetherness), manaakitanga (looking after one another/hospitality) and kōtahitanga (unity).
